Township Assistance

The Township Trustee is here to help the residents of Richland in times of crisis. The Township does not provide any long-term support or relief, but if you have a sudden, unavoidable problem, we may be able to help.

Township residents may come to the Township office to pick up an application for Township Assistance or print the application from our website. Once the application is completed and you have all the required documents, you will need to call the Township office at 812-876-2509 or email Laura at to schedule an appointment to determine eligibility for assistance.  Please bring the application and all the required documents with you to the interview.

All required documents must be provided before an application for assistance is accepted.

All adults (anyone 18 years or older) in the household must be present for the interview or the application will not be accepted.  The Township does not provide same day appointments or assistance.

If you have any questions regarding township assistance, please contact the township office and speak with Laura.

Who can get assistance?
